Here is a step by step tutorial on how you can get the ‘Beauty Queen Look’ with Ana V and Miss Laura Guzman, representing Vancouver at the Miss All Nations Beauty Pageant in Nanjing, China!
Here is some background on the pageant for those of you who don’t know about it!
Miss All Nations Beauty Pageant not only focuses on the contestants endless inner beauty, but also their desire to succeed, their dedication to service, courage to fight for what is right and most importantly, the passion to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate through volunteerism.
The purpose of the Miss All Nations Pageant is to give girls the opportunity to come together in a pageant setting regardless of their background and to build relationships with other ladies who are working diligently to leave a positive impact in their communities.
As the Miss All Nations delegates come together and share their community volunteer projects, ideas and goals with each other, they become unified as pageant sisters in the All Nations Family.
The contest is held in China, with contestants from 43 countries and 13 Chinese cities to mark the World Historical and Cultural Cities Forum 2010 attended by mayors of 46 cities around the world.
The contest theme is to protect our Planet Earth and give our future generation a better tomorrow.
Step 1: Mix primer with your foundation
This is a surefire way to retain the foundations coverage without looking caked on.. because nobody likes looking cake-like.
Plus, you get to reap the long-lasting durability that cream foundation has over liquids and powders.
This also helps the makeup blend seamlessly with the first layer of primer on your skin.
Some tips to remember:
If you have oily skin, it would be best to use a damp sponge to apply it. Most foundations have oil in its formula to give the coverage blend-ability. Using the sponge, it will pick up the pigment but not the oil in the foundation. By doing this, you’ll still get great coverage, and not the shine.
For dry or combination skin types, use your foundation brush and buff the foundation onto the skin, concentrating on the centre of your face. The centre is typically where your skin has the most discolouration.
The further you get from the centre of your face, the less coverage you want to layer on.
Step 2: Apply eyeshadow
Depending on the theme of the pageant, you can go for different colours and textures.
A tip for any colours that you use, be sure to apply the lighter colour all over your lid, then the darker colour in your eye crease.
Bring that darker colour along the bottom lash line to give the effect of wide eyes.
Use a shimmery white in your inner corner and underneath your brow bone to highlight those sexy features!
Step 3: Add false lashes
- Apply lash glue to the lashes and wait until the glue gets tacky before you apply them on your eyes.
- Curl your lashes to blend the fake and natural lashes together
- Add more mascara to blend them even more to create a full and natural look
- There you are Miss Beauty Queen, go out and conquer!
- We wish Laura Guzman the best of luck and make us proud!
